- Teachers for English language learners offer support for students and teachers in their schools
- English as a second Language, ESL, programs offered at some secondary schools
- Settlement Workers in School, SWIS, program offers students, and their families help with housing, immigration, employment, recreation, etc.

Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) - New Canadians Centre
SWIS is a school-based outreach program that enhances schools’ capacities to welcome newcomer families. This program is in Partnership with the ºÃÉ«tv and Peterborough Victoria Northumberland Clarington Catholic District School Boards. SWIS works with newcomer families and youth to provide information and connect them to resources in the school and community. SWIS meets new clients through direct referral from schools and also supports clients through the NCC offices.
Language Line Telephone Translation Service
A translation service for schools to use to communicate with families in over 100 languages. Confidential, professional translators are available.
